Rachel is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia (#LPC009602). A native of the Atlanta area, Rachel received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Women’s Studies from the University of Georgia. She earned a Master of Education and Education Specialist degree in School Counseling from Georgia State University. After working in a school setting for over 10 years, Rachel now uses her extensive knowledge of children, teens, and families in her private practice. She is uniquely situated to understand the challenges that arise both at home and at school and how those challenges often intersect. With a deep understanding of child development and a compassionate approach, Rachel creates a nurturing and safe environment where children, teens, and young adults can explore their emotions and develop healthy coping skills. Rachel possesses an innate ability to connect with individuals, effortlessly gaining their trust and helping them feel respected and empowered. Her broad experience allows her to tailor therapeutic interventions to each person's unique needs. Rachel also believes that it is integral to involve parents as partners in the process to foster stronger connections and understanding to increase emotional well-being. Rachel uses trauma-informed treatment approaches that include Child Centered Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and expressive arts. She weaves principles of interpersonal neurobiology into her work, helping clients and parents build insight to behavior and emotions. She is neurodiversity affirming and welcomes clients from all cultural and spiritual backgrounds, as well as LGBTQ+ clients.
