Taylor is an Associate Professional Counselor (APC010388), and they are currently working towards their PhD in Counselor Education and Practice at Georgia State University. Taylor is also working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist. Taylor is an Atlanta transplant, who hails from New Jersey, and received their Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Georgia State University and Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Agnes Scott College. Throughout Taylor's academic and professional career, they strongly focused on the different theories surrounding lifespan development, Queer and Feminist Studies, and creative and play-based counseling interventions for people of all ages. Taylor's counseling focuses on helping people deconstruct their acceptance and understanding of themselves and the world around them, and then, re-construct internal beliefs that are more aligned with who they genuinely are. Utilizing Feminist, Queer, and Postmodern counseling theories, Taylor aims to provide tailored counseling services to people of all ages, and they implement modified Filial therapy to support caregivers. Taylor enjoys working with people who are experiencing difficulties with personal identity exploration, gender identity and sexuality exploration, adjusting to life changes, substance misuse and abuse, depression, and anxiety. They specialize in working with LGBTGEQIAP+ youth and adults and have specific experience working with youth who hold marginalized identities and individuals who struggle with substance use. With Taylor, counseling is a collaborative effort that strives to include the client's support system in treatment planning and progress.
